Several people have asked me if I could release the layouts I used to make my adventure look like one of the professional adventures from Posthuman Studios. I am not comfortable doing that, mostly because I don’t think that it will be helpful. Instead I am going to be writing a short series (posted at least every Monday) on how to recreate the formatting of an Eclipse Phase adventure using nothing but LibreOffice, Gimp, some optional pdf image extraction tools, a hex editor, and a lot of time. So without further ado:
Part 1 out of 40: Installing the fonts
The first thing that you have to do is to get and install all the correct fonts. Unfortunately, I deleted my font files for some reason that I am sure made perfect sense at the time, so I can’t post them here. However, I do have a list of the fonts you will need. They are:
You will also need a font that contains the little squares (or snowflakes) used at the end of the sidebars and in the heading on the first page. I just used OpenSymbol which came with my system because I didn’t need the snowflakes. Make sure that you get every font: the reason why the bold font’s in V 1.0 of Chain Reaction look so bad is because I missed one.
Next Week: page and basic text formatting.
